Today was a special day — I got to visit my kids at Integris Mental Health Hospital. Every time I walk through those doors, I can feel how much they’ve missed me… and honestly, I’ve missed them just as much. Their faces light up the moment they see me, and my tail can’t help but wag as fast as it can.
I only get to visit twice a month, but those visits mean the world to me. I wish I could go more often, because being with them makes my big fluffy heart feel full. When it’s finally time to go, I get so excited that I try to “help” my human drive — mostly by leaning forward and making sure we’re taking the right roads.
Being there, offering comfort, calm, and a soft place to rest a hand… that’s my favorite part of being a therapy dog. And every visit reminds me why I love what I do.
