Holly trotted into Will Rogers Airport with her tail already swaying, ready for her Wednesday night mission of spreading comfort. She stopped to see her favorite weekly friends — the reservation team, TSA officers, and airport staff — and got her beloved pup cup (plus a big hug and kiss) from her favorite friend.

The airport was tense with delays to Chicago, but Holly moved gate to gate offering soft nudges, leaning against tired travelers, and giving her famous shoulder hugs. Faces softened. People laughed. The mood changed.

By the end of the night, Holly had left smiles at every gate — another airport full of lighter hearts, thanks to one very large special dog.

When I know it’s time to go to Will Rogers Airport, my tail starts wagging before we even get in the car. I love my Wednesday nights there. I know the halls, the smells, the voices — and I know the people who wait for me.

I feel happy when I walk in and hear, “Holly’s here!” from my weekly friends. The reservation team, TSA officers, and airport staff always make me feel like I’m part of their family. And when my favorite friend calls out, “There’s my girl!” and gives me my pup cup, my whole heart feels full.

I love meeting new people — the travelers, the kids, the tired parents, and even the nervous recruits heading to Fort Sill. I met a little girl and boy who wanted me to get on the plane with them and go home with them! I would’ve loved the adventure, but I can’t leave my humans.

I can tell when someone needs a hug or a nudge. I can feel when someone is anxious or lonely. Helping them makes me feel proud. It’s like I know I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to do. My human gives the children stickers with my picture on them, and I have trading cards for travelers of all ages to take home as a memory of our visit.

Walking gate to gate, seeing faces brighten, watching people relax… it makes me happy in a way I can’t explain. I may just be a big fluffy dog, but I know I’m making a difference.

And every time I leave the airport, I’m already excited to come back next Wednesday!
