Today, Holly padded through the doors of the children’s hospital, her tail swishing like a fluffy white flag announcing, “Holly’s here!” The halls were bright and busy, full of new little faces she hadn’t met before. Some were shy, some were curious, and some were already smiling the moment they heard her big, gentle paw nails coming their way.
Holly made sure every single child got a hug — the soft kind where she leans in close, rests her head gently against them, and lets them know she’s right there with them. A few kids wrapped their arms around her neck; others buried their hands in her fluffy coat. Holly didn’t mind one bit. She had hugs for everyone and gave them all doggie glitter to remind them of her.
The nurses and hospital staff lit up when they saw her too. They always do. They work so hard caring for their patients, and Holly knows they need comfort just as much as the kids do. She trotted over to them with her calm, steady steps, offering a quiet moment of peace. Some knelt down to hug her; others scratched behind her ears or whispered, “Hi sweet girl… I needed this today.”
Holly soaked it all in — the smiles, the giggles, the soft pats, the grateful sighs. She may be just one dog, but she brings something special into those rooms: a little warmth, a little calm, and a whole lot of love.
By the time she left, Holly had made new friends, lifted tired spirits, and filled the hospital with her gentle kind of magic. And as she walked out with her humans, her tail wagged proudly — because today, she made a difference, one hug at a time.
A little Paw-Mail from Holly!
Today was one of my favorite kinds of days — Kid Day at the children’s hospital! As soon as I saw my humans put on their uniform shirts I knew I was going to see MY KIDS! I met lots of new little faces today, and ohhh my tail was wagging like crazy.
Most of the kids ran right up to me for hugs, but one little boy stood far away and froze like a statue. He looked at me with big eyes because, well…I’m enormous. I’m basically a walking cloud with legs. He watched me from a safe distance and whispered, “Maybe next time.” I gave him my softest tail wag — the one that says, I’m giant, but I’m gentle, I promise. I think next time he’ll let me give him a hug. I will take it slow with him.
Then came the questions. Ohhhh the questions.
Every kid wanted to know about Nugget, my little brother. They read about him on the back of my trading card and suddenly I was getting grilled like I was on a talk show.
“Is Nugget really that small?” “Does he follow you everywhere?” “Does he get in trouble?” “Do you have to babysit him?”
Yes. Yes. Yes. And YES and he was small once but has grown up too! My humans tell people that they didnt have ponies when they were small, so they have large dogs now!

Nugget is a little brother in every possible way — wiggly, silly, sometimes annoying, always adorable. I love him. We play all the time. When we go to the lake, I take him for walks on the pier and make sure he doesn’t fall in. Someone has to keep him alive, and apparently that someone is me.

Then the kids wanted to know what I looked like when my humans first got me. When I told them I used to be tiny — like, not even as big as my head is now — they gasped. One kid said, “NO WAY!” Another said, “You were a BABY marshmallow!” Honestly? Accurate.
I told them I was extremely cute as a baby. I’m still extremely cute now. Just… in a much larger, fluffier, more majestic way.

Oh, you should’ve seen me today! My humans decided it was time for a little paw‑dicure. I sat like the good girl I am (mostly) while they painted my nails bright, shiny red. I think they said it was “therapy dog chic.” I say it’s fashion‑forward fabulous!
When I walked into the hospital, everyone noticed right away. The nurses gasped, the kids giggled. The red nails clicked softly on the floor as I walked, like tiny applause for every step I took. I felt fancy, confident, and maybe just a little sassy. My humans laughed and said I looked ready for a runway instead of rounds.
By the end of the visit, I had hugs, smiles, compliments galore and a million tail wags.
My nails might be small, but they made a big impression. And honestly? I think red is my color!
The kids were happy, the nurses were smiling, and I felt like the world’s fluffiest superhero.
