Today’s visit to Integris was full of new faces—some shy, some bold, all curious. Holly picked up on it right away, trotting in with her soft tail wag that always makes kids feel safe.
Children peeked around corners, whispered “Look, a dog!” and slowly gathered around her. Some hugged her instantly. Others took their time. Holly greeted each one with gentle patience, making every child feel seen.
One quiet boy stood off to the side, unsure. Holly walked over slowly and waited. After a moment, he reached out and touched her fur, and his whole expression softened. That tiny smile said everything.
By the end of the visit, Holly had handed out hugs, plenty of trading cards and stickers. The kids waved as we left, already excited for next time.
A little Paw-Mail from Holly!
Hi friends, it’s me—Holly! I had such a big day at Integris. I saw so many new kids, and my tail was wagging nonstop. Some of them were excited to meet me, some were a little shy, and a few were leaving to be discharged and wont be seeing me again. Those kids looked so sad when they realized they wouldn’t get to see me anymore. I wished I could have run after them for one more hug.

My human knelt down and told one little girl, “On the back of Holly’s trading card is her email address. You can be Paw Pals with her!” I wagged my tail because that sounded very official and important… even though I don’t really understand computers. I’m a dog—I understand snacks, belly rubs, and squeaky toys.
My human says she can handle all that computer stuff for me (thank goodness—my paws aren’t great at typing!). So if you want to be my Paw Pal, you can send me a message at hollyscomfortcrew@gmail.com. My human reads them out loud in her “Holly voice,” and I wag along like I’m answering back. It’s basically email magic with extra fur involved!
But guess what? My human found a new grooming tool, and in just five minutes, she combed out so much hair that she started laughing. She said it looked like I was wearing a fluffy tutu. My other human said it looked like I was sitting in a cloud—or maybe that I had been shot out of a cannon and landed in a pile of fluff.

The kids always have fun rubbing my fur and making all my loose hair come out. There was enough to make a snowball even after all the hair my humans f=got out! They call it doggie glitter, and honestly… they’re right. I sparkle everywhere I go. My humans have tried everything to help with my shedding. I have two coats, and with this hot weather, the vacuum brush wasn’t working at all.
What do you think I looked like?
Tell me in the comments below! I can’t wait to “read” them (okay, fine… my human will read them out loud while I wag dramatically like I’m hanging on every word). It’s our special storytime—me, my human, and your awesome comments!
Nugget and I hope you all have a wonderful Independence Day!
