Holly trotted into the NW 122nd Street Library with her tail swishing like she was making her grand red‑carpet entrance. She spotted plenty of familiar faces — and lots of new ones who looked at her like she was the celebrity guest they didn’t know they needed. Big kids waved from the chapter‑book shelves, and little ones zoomed over with shy smiles and giggles that sounded like tiny squeaky toys.
Some kids read to her, some leaned on her like she was the world’s fluffiest pillow, and a few toddlers proudly showed off their board books as if Holly were the official judge of toddler literature. Holly welcomed everyone — regulars, newcomers, tiny humans, medium humans — making each one feel like they were her favorite.
By the end of her visit, Holly had listened to stories about dinosaurs, princesses, superheroes, and very questionable puppy shenanigans. As she headed out, a little voice yelled, “Bye Holly!” and her tail wagged in that slow, dramatic way that clearly meant, yes, child, I have enjoyed my adventure with you today.
A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!

Wow, what a busy day at the NW 122nd Street Library! I saw so many kids today — lots of new faces and plenty of my regular readers too. The big kids read their chapter books to me, and I listened closely. I’m so proud of them. They read so well and with so much confidence. The younger ones are reading well too, they always turn the books so I can see the pictures. But I like when the little ones that can’t read tell me their version of the story based on the pictures they see. Some have great imaginations!
Kids were reading stories about dinosaurs, cats, and even my all-time favorite Biscuit books! Those always make my tail wag. I learn so much from these stories! My human reminded everyone that I visit the library on the first and third Monday of every month, and suddenly parents were pulling out their phones like I was a rock star on tour. I mean… me, on their calendars. I’ve made it.
We stayed late so the very last kids could see me — because obviously I’m the main event. They grabbed my trading cards like they were rare Pokémon, and every single kid slapped their sticker on something immediately. Backpacks, shirts, foreheads… you name it.
There were only three therapy dogs today — usually there can be as many as seven — but thanks to the holiday, my furry coworkers took the day off. Honestly? That just meant more kids for me. I was basically running my own meet‑and‑greet tour.
After the library, we stopped at the drug store, and the clerks practically teleported over to see me. They all said I was “so pretty,” and I wagged my tail like, “Oh stop… but also don’t stop.” My human says all those compliments are fine as long as only my head gets bigger and not my paws. I still have no idea what that means. My paws are perfect.
My human handed out my trading cards, and suddenly the clerks wanted to read about my adventures too.
I even had a couple of people say they enjoy my stories and that maybe we should write a book. A book! Imagine that — Holly: The Tail‑Wagging Author. Hmmm… I could get used to that.

When we finally headed home, we had dinner, and then my grandma took Nugget and me for a walk around the block. I thought, “Great! Time to stretch my legs and supervise Nugget.” The weather was perfect for an evening stroll. Grandma needed some fresh air and a break from the house, so off we went, trotting like we owned the neighborhood. Nugget tried to act cool, but I’m pretty sure I was the star of the walk. I lead the way so they didn’t get lost. It was fun!
Now I’m off to relax for a bit — I’ve earned my couch time — but I’ll be back on my next big adventure Wednesday at Will Rogers International Airport. If you’re traveling, make sure you fly on Wednesday evenings so you can see me. I mean… who wouldn’t want a pre‑flight tail‑wag greeting from yours truly? I’m basically the airport’s unofficial mascot at this point.
