Celebrity Dog Adventures: Fun at the Airport

Weds night at the airport was packed with families trying to squeeze in one last trip to Florida before school starts. The terminal buzzed with kids in vacation mode, parents juggling bags, and long lines at every gate. A few flights were delayed thanks to weather rolling through the Southeast, adding a layer of frustration to the crowd. Even so, the excitement of upcoming beach days kept spirits surprisingly high as everyone waited for their turn to take off.

A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!

Tuesday was dentist day — yes, even glamorous dogs like me need professional whitening tooth sparkle maintenance. I strutted out of there grinning like I’d just won Best in Show. My teeth were so shiny I could’ve signaled planes with them.

Good thing, because Weds we were off to the airport — prime territory for weekly photo ops! I was ready to flash my dazzling smile at every traveler, TSA agent, and vending machine that made eye contact.

The moment my paws hit the terminal floor, I knew it was going to be a big night. I mean, you should’ve seen the crowd. Apparently everyone was trying to get to Florida. Why? Because there’s a famous mouse down there that kids lose their minds over. I think his name is… Micky? Mickey? Mick‑something. I don’t understand why humans are obsessed with a rodent, but honestly, I stopped questioning human behavior a long time ago.

And speaking of this mouse — someone handed me Mickey ears. I looked fabulous. Like, celebrity‑dog‑on‑vacation fabulous! I’m pretty sure I could’ve walked straight onto the plane and no one would’ve stopped me.

“How do I look in Mickey ears?” I asked with my eyes.

Judging by the squeals, gasps, and one person nearly dropping their drink, I looked amazing!

I saw tons of my old friends and met several new ones. Stickers were handed out, trading cards went to the big kids, and a bunch of people signed up to read my adventures while they waited for their flights. Delays meant extra time for hugs — which is basically my dream scenario.

Some folks were trying to get back home to New York. Others were determined to get to Florida no matter how long the weather delays lasted. Everyone seemed to need a little comfort, and that’s where I shine.

As we walked down toward the gates, I kept noticing something funny. Every time I turned around… the SAME people were behind me. They’d follow for a bit, then when we reached a quieter spot, they’d sneak in for an extra hug. I didn’t mind at all — honestly, I felt like a celebrity with my own fan club trailing behind me.

And with my freshly polished teeth? I was ready for every photo op!

What a night. What an adventure. And what a lot of love in one airport.
