The airport had its usual evening buzz tonight — bright lights, rolling suitcases, and tired travelers hoping to get home. A big crowd gathered around the departure board, all staring at the same update: multiple flights to Denver delayed.
It was a reminder that airports are little worlds of their own, full of people heading somewhere, or trying to.
A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!
Time to go to one of my favorite places — the airport! As soon as I trotted in, I spotted my regulars. I gave big hugs to Aaron, Daisy, and of course my guys in blue at the Military Welcome Center. They always make me feel like a celebrity.
Then came the very important part of my job: taste testing. Tonight’s winner? The oatmeal cookies. Fantastic. I would have taken a whole bag home, but my humans said something about “boundaries.”

Next stop: my friends at American Airlines. They always tell me I’m big — which is rude but also true. I hopped up on the scale and their eyes got huge when it flashed 145 lbs. I’m a lot of dog, okay? Big love requires big paws.
Some passengers were left wondering if I was the one being checked in by my humans. Honestly, with all the attention I get, I wouldn’t blame them for thinking I was about to board a flight. I mean, I do look pretty official — big dog, big smile, big energy. If I had a boarding pass, I’d probably try to sit in first class.

Out at the gates, I met so many wonderful people — basically my fan club. Several were thrilled to see me and gave me all the pets I clearly deserve. One little girl was traveling for her birthday, so I broke out my best moves, wagging and twirling like I was auditioning for “Dancing with the Dogs.” I even tried to sing “Happy Birthday” in bark language. She laughed so hard I’m pretty sure I nailed it.

Then I met a sweet family from El Paso. Their little boy gave me the best hugs, and his sister was just as excited. They loved my stickers so much they put them on their luggage right away — now I get to travel with them everywhere they go! They told my humans they’d be back in OKC and would bring friends next time. I can’t wait.
Down at the other gates, I got the biggest surprise — a little boy who already knew me! He said, “I have your sticker!” He’s my friend from the library who reads to me. Last time he read me a dinosaur book. He wasn’t sure it was really me since I wasn’t in my usual reading spot, but once he realized, he laughed and gave me pets. I told him I’d see him at the library again soon.
Flights were delayed because of weather in Denver, so it was up to me to keep everyone happy. I met lots of kids. One little boy told my human his younger brother was afraid of big dogs — but not me. He said I was nice and even gave me a hug. I melted.

Then came the tiniest friend of the night — a little girl, maybe 18 months old, wearing a butterfly harness. She got so excited when she saw me. She gave me baby kisses on the nose, tugged my ears gently, and rubbed her face in my fur. Every time I tried to walk away, she cried. I stayed as long as I could, because baby kisses are my weakness.

After all that love, I headed home to rest up and get some sun before the Summer Bash at the Children’s Hospital tomorrow. I’m kinda white… do I need sunscreen? I’ll ask my humans.
Can’t wait to see my kids tomorrow.
