Holly’s Heartwarming Hospital Visits

Holly went to visit her kids today! They are very special to her. She knows when we are heading to the hospital. She even stopped to chat with a homeless man today that needed a smile, and she was there to provide comfort to him. You never know what kind of impact you can make.

A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!

Well, well, well… guess who sashayed into Integris Behavioral Health Center today like she owns the deed to the building? Me. Obviously.

I strutted in with my “I know exactly where I’m going” swagger — because I do.

I’ve got this place mapped out better than the nurses. Honestly, if they ever get lost, they should just follow me. First stop: the adult ward, where the grown‑ups stay for a few days to reset. I always swing by before seeing my kids, because adults need emotional support too… especially the ones who look like they haven’t had a proper hug since 2003.

Today I met a young lady who took one look at me and basically said, “Yes. That one. That’s my dog now.”

Her smile was so big it could’ve powered the whole building. She followed me around the room like I was handing out free puppies. Every time someone else finished petting me, she swooped right back in for bonus pets. I think I made a real difference for her today — she wasn’t sad anymore, and that’s the kind of thing that makes my tail wag extra hard.

After that, it was time to see MY KIDS, and I was just as excited as they were. I practically pranced down the hallway like a giant golden parade float. There were several new faces — fresh hugs, fresh giggles — and a few returning faces too. And honestly? That’s totally fine. I’m proud of them for coming back and asking for help. Some things you just can’t do alone, and it takes real courage to say, “Yep, I need support.”

I’m honored to be part of that support system… even if my support mostly involves tail wags, strategic leaning, and occasionally dropping a slobber string on someone’s shoe for emotional enrichment.

The nurses told my human something that made my ears shoot straight up like satellite dishes: Remember that teenage boy who used to be scared of me?

Well… he’s not scared anymore. Not even a tiny bit. Not even “I’ll stand across the room and observe the fluffy creature from afar.” Nope. The fear is GONE. Vanished. Poof.

Let’s be real, I should get a medal. Or at least a treat.

He’s come such a long way. Today he even told the nurse, “She’s OK.” Which, in teenage‑boy language, is basically a glowing five‑star Yelp review. It means I officially passed the smell test, earned VIP status, and am now fully accepted into his extremely exclusive teenage inner circle.

If I am being honest, I might be the first dog in history to get promoted by a teenager.

He gives me treats now. He doesn’t even flinch if I accidentally decorate his hand with a little slobber. He lets me lean on him too — and let’s be real, I’m basically the size of a small sofa, so that’s a big deal.

He’ll always have a special place in my heart because I felt bad for scaring him at first. But I knew I could win him over. I always do. It’s kind of my thing: show up huge, fluffy, and determined… and suddenly people forget they were ever afraid of me.

Eventually it was time for me to head home. My paws were tired, my tail was tired, and my heart was basically overflowing like a tipped‑over water bowl. Every kid gave me a hug and told me they’d see me in two weeks — and they said it with that “don’t you dare be late” energy.

And they will. I’ll be back, giant and fluffy as ever, ready to make them smile all over again. It’s what I do. It’s my calling. I’m basically the world’s biggest emotional support marshmallow on a schedule.

My human took a picture what do you see?

I think God was looking down on me, giving me a little wink, reminding me that all good dogs go to heaven — and I’m definitely on the VIP list.
