We really thought the dog days of summer were over… but nope. Oklahoma said, “Surprise!” and cranked the thermostat back up to 102 degrees tonight. Poor Holly was out there sweating like a golden rotisserie chicken. She gave me that look like, “I did NOT sign up for this. I am a comfort dog, not a baked potato.”
A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!
Well, we got a little late start tonight — my human said it was fine, but I personally felt like we were running behind on my very important celebrity schedule. Luckily, my Southwest Airlines friends didn’t mind. I strutted in like, “Yes hello, your favorite giant dog has arrived,” and they acted like they’d been waiting all day just to see me. Which… obviously.

Then it was off to visit my special friends in blue at the Military Welcome Center. They had chocolate chip cookies and brownies sitting out, and I gave my human the biggest “just one bite?” eyes you’ve ever seen — full sparkle, maximum guilt. But nope. Apparently chocolate is “dangerous” and “not for dogs” and “Holly, stop trying to steal brownies.”
Thankfully, my human brought extra mini treats, so I still got to snack before doing my job. Not quite the same as a warm brownie, but hey — a snack’s a snack. I crunched them with maximum drama, so everyone knew I was suffering through dessert deprivation. A working girl needs fuel… even if it’s the “sorry you can’t have chocolate” kind.
My human walked me through the security gate, and I was devastated to discover my favorite fan had already closed her store. I mean full heartbreak, tail‑droop, tragic‑movie‑moment energy. I thought she left before I could see her, and I was this close to filing an emotional support complaint with airport management. A celebrity dog should NOT have to endure this kind of disappointment.

But then — VEGA.
My special friend.
My airport soulmate.
She knew I’d be there, even with our late start. She went and got me a pup cup and waited by the security door like she was greeting royalty. She gave me a huge hug and a kiss before heading home. I love her so much I wagged my tail so hard my whole backside was doing the cha‑cha.

I met lots of people tonight, but my favorite was a little boy — two and a half years old — traveling to Colorado. He talked to me like we were old friends, and his parents said they’re going to visit my website and follow my adventures. When it was time for me to move on to the other gates, he waved bye‑bye like I was boarding the plane with him.
I saw several adults too, and they all grabbed my trading cards and immediately pulled out their phones to check out my website. I still don’t totally understand what a website is — I think it’s some kind of magic story box where humans read about me? — but my human handles all that fancy stuff and helps me write about my adventures. Honestly, I’m starting to wonder if other dogs have websites… or if I’m the only one with my own digital fan club.

My human told me I’m an international superstar now. Over 1,000 people read about me, and folks in 14 countries outside the U.S. know who I am. I wonder if I’ve met any of them here at Will Rogers International Airport… or if they just heard about the giant fluffy dog who works security with her tail.

My human even talked to our friend at American Airlines about getting me on a plane for a short trip. She said I wouldn’t need to buy a seat — they’d put me right in the bulkhead row, with all the legroom a giant fluffy queen deserves. My human really needs to make that happen. I’m ready for my first official flight. I’ll be the best‑behaved passenger they’ve ever had… and honestly, probably the only one who doesn’t complain about pretzels.

Eventually it was time to go home and see what Nugget was up to. I just knew he’d be parked next to Grandma, watching TV like he’s a tiny retired man with opinions. And of course, he was probably talking her ear off the whole time — that boy has more dialogue than a soap opera. Honestly, Grandma doesn’t even need the TV for entertainment when Nugget’s around.
