Peanut Butter Cookies, Airport Hugs & Holly’s 1,500 Fans

Holly has been very busy the last few days — honestly, her schedule looks like she’s campaigning for Mayor of Oklahoma City. First, she attended the Librarians’ Staff Meeting, where she was clearly the most important guest in the room. Then she trotted off to the OKC Law School like she was about to teach a class on “Advanced Snuggling and Emotional Support 101.” After that, she made an appearance at the Boeing QA Auditors meeting, because obviously those auditors needed some quality assurance from her. And of course, she wrapped it all up with a visit to Will Rogers Airport, where she strutted through the terminal like she owned the place.

Holly’s calendar is booked, her fans are everywhere, and she’s accepting pets and compliments as payment.

A Little Paw-Mail from Holly!

It was Wednesday night, which means one thing: airport time. My humans said, “Let’s go to Will Rogers,” and I was already halfway to the car. When we got there, WHOA. It was crowded. People everywhere. The reservationist told my humans it was because of fall break. I don’t know what a fall break is, but apparently it’s when humans stop going to work and all decide to go to the airport at the exact same time. Sounds exhausting.

I took my job seriously. I sniffed. I inspected. I gave the cookies my professional opinion. And now… drum roll please… The winner is PEANUT BUTTER! A classic. A favorite. A masterpiece. And totally not chosen just because I’m not allowed to have brownies or chocolate chip cookies. I’m sure those are delicious too — my human certainly thinks so. He eats brownies like it’s a competitive sport.

The lady who makes the treats donates her time, and the recruits LOVE her homemade goodies. They won’t get any for a while, so I made sure to give her extra tail wags. We thank them for their service — and for letting me judge their snacks.

There were SO many people that my humans actually ran out of trading cards and stickers. Ran out! Do they not understand I am a celebrity? I need unlimited swag. I should have a whole suitcase of merch like a rock star on tour.

Lots of big kids wanted hugs, and several people subscribed to my website right there on the spot. My human checked later — she’s been writing my stories for just over two months, and more than 1,500 people have read them. And get this… people in sixteen countries have seen my adventures.

Countries! I don’t even know what a country is. My humans say I have “followers,” which sounds suspicious. Am I supposed to keep an eye over my shoulder? That would be hard. My head doesn’t turn that far.

Or maybe “followers” means they’re like me — I follow my humans everywhere and never leave their side. Are all these people going to follow me around? What am I to do with 1500 people following behind me everywhere I go. They won’t fit in my house! How did they even hear about me? Word of mouth travels fast, but this is ridiculous.

My humans know everyone at the airport — reservationists, TSA, CLEAR, baggage claim, maintenance, restaurant workers, gift shop employees. They all yell my name when I walk by. It’s like being famous, but with more drool.

Even though the airport was packed with fall‑break travelers, everyone was happy and friendly. People kept stopping to ask how I was trained and if it took a long time. I learn just like humans do — except faster. My humans say I’m sometimes too smart for my own good. I don’t know what that means either, but it sounds like a compliment, so I’ll take it.
